One of the things I always ask my seniors and their families is...

"Is there a certain place that always makes you smile, or brings back amazing memories of your last 3 years?" 

This question is probably one of the most important I ask because when I photograph senior portraits, it isn't just a snapshot of 1 year. It's a story that has been 17 years in the making.  A story of who someone was, who they became and who they will be. 

And it's a beautiful story, that deserves to be told beautifully.

Makenzie's session embodied this concept from start to finish.  At her ultimate session, we started out in Jackson showing off her golf skills, did a little hair and makeup, grabbed lunch at my fav place(Kibby Cobb) and then headed to the west side of the state to Lake Michigan.  To a little town called South Haven.

South Haven was a place that was dear to Makenzie and her family. Somewhere they have gone for years.  I was so excited to take those fond memories and create new ones as Makenzie starts a new chapter in her life of going out into the world to follow her dreams!

I still remember the day, the photos, the energy and how much fun we all had.  It was a true honor to be a small part of her senior year, and I am so lucky they trusted me to capture these images.
